29th July Sporting

Awful conditions for today’s shoot.

Unbelievably the one day of terrible weather falls on a shooting Sunday. It feels rather unfair for many sports across the Island to have had such rotten weather for a Sunday, after such a great run.  Why did it have to come on a Sunday!

A massive thanks to the course setters for Sunday’s efforts,  if it was not a day to shoot, it certainly wasn’t a day to be out setting up and packing away.

Well done to those that braved the course,  which produced for the first time we can remember a 3 way tie at the top of the leaderboard.  So on joint first place with a score of 77  were Mark CoburnRob Gale, and Ollie Hughes.

In the Handicap Competition, Phil Strickland won with 67+29, 96, followed by Howard Yates 66+27,93 and Ollie Hughes 77+16, 93.

Looking forward to a drier shoot  – which is Sunday 12th Aug.
