Wow what a windy day, with gust to 50kts, the targets were either downwind like rockets, upwind stoppers, or across the wind making huge jumps up and down. Great layout however to make the best of the day. Not sure many of us would have voted for 100 rabbits – the only way to have more regular targets!
Setting up each week is a hard job, especially setting up yesterday in the rain, so thanks one again to those that do, if you think you are someone that could lend a hand from time to time, please do chat to Maria or a committee member, there’s a fair bit to do each week, not all of it hard physical graft, so don’t be put off from volunteering.
Today’s scores really reflect the difficulty of the conditions, with barrels being blown around, targets ‘ wobbling ‘ So well done to Ollie Hughes how managed a creditable 74, for today’s high gun. Followed by a fantastic 72 from Richard Rivlin who is in Club Class D. and Mark Coburn and Mark Whillier on 70. The handicap winner could only be one person, with Richard Rivlin taking it by a huge margin, finishing on 107 (72+35) followed by Ollie Hughes on 93 (74+19) and Nigel Leverton on 91 (53+38). Not only was Richard the winner, but he was also the only gun to shoot above the handicap ‘par’ of 95. Really well done, perhaps windy conditions are your forte.
