3rd January Sporting Scores

What a morning, torrential rain over the last 2 days left the ground wet, and flooded in places, and the approach roads to the club passable only with care.  With a few saying ‘lets get out there, before it gets worse’ were treated so heavy rain, and gusty winds, making the targets difficult to see through safety glasses, and jumping around. Yet it was already the height of the poor conditions as after 12pm the conditions moderated, with the day ending with sunshine and lighter winds.

It was always going to be a tricky day, and today’s scores show that with only 3 scores passing the handicap ‘par’ of 95, well shot Colin Lazell, James Askew & Chris Beesley who filled the handicap podium, with no one else managing to pass the ’95’ mark.

The High Gun went to James Askew, who shot an excellent 85, followed by Ollie Hughes who shrugged of the conditions to score 80, and Lee Pitman 3rd place 79.

This is the 4th Winter Series shoot, and the full results for the series so far will be published in the coming days.

Thanks to the setting up team today, who arrived at 7am, in the pouring rain, and pitch black to get the layout together,  which despite the conditions produced some great (challenging ) targets.

There is a Club committee meeting tomorrow evening ( Monday 4th January ) if there is anything that you might like to be brought to the attention of the committee then please do get in touch with Mark or Maria.
