Summer Sporting Series 2018

The Summer Sporting Series concluded on the 26th Aug. Three unimaginably wet shoots for the last 3 was not at all representative of our summer, this did effect numbers, but rewarded those that made it to the shoots. Mark Coburn shot really well all series to win the High Gun prize, winning by 2 hits

26th Aug 2018 Scores

A difficult day, with both birds and weather being extremely wet & windy! That said, one trio said it was the most fun they’d had in ages, as their scores were nip & tuck all the way round. A massive thank you to all those that turned out in it today. Ollie Hughes found his

29th July Sporting

Awful conditions for today’s shoot. Unbelievably the one day of terrible weather falls on a shooting Sunday. It feels rather unfair for many sports across the Island to have had such rotten weather for a Sunday, after such a great run.  Why did it have to come on a Sunday! A massive thanks to the

In the Handicap competition, Len Bancroft, shot well for 50+60,  110  followed by Rob Butcher, 89+19,

1st July Scores

And so the great weather continues, a zone of high pressure sitting above the club, has made conditions record breaking for a few shoots on the trot. Admittedly today was perhaps a little on the hot side.  Despite a few hungry horse flies,  the layout was another great piece of work from the setters-up and

17th June Shoot

A(nother) great day at the club,  overcast  meant the targets were clear to see, if on occasion a little wind effected –  “birds may vary”  was often heard. Some great targets to take on.  Lee Pitman found the going particularly well,  with an excellent 86, followed by Leon Clifton very close behind with 85, and Danny Saunders

Sunday May 6th Scores

A wonderful bank holiday weekend, with sunshine, properly warm weather, and an excellent layout at the club today.  If only we could have a summer like this.  Like all good layouts most of the stands felt quite hittable, but the odd one slipped away here and there.   It was a tough one however, with

A cracking day at the club today, whilst others (40,000 of them) were wiggling their way around the London marathon course,  the members we enjoying slightly cooler temperatures, but great conditions for shooting.   The layout today was a belter,  it shot very tough, but the target presentations were not impossible,  once correctly understood they

8th April Sporting County Championship

It was a damp day at the club today, after various forecasts had offered hope of dry conditions.   However Mark Downer seemed to find his way around very well to take the County Championship ( he was also 2017 County Sporting Champion ), shooting an excellent 89.   Mark Coburn was club High Gun
